Baton Rouge-based b1Bank acquires this Texas SBA loan provider
Baton Rouge-based b1Bank has acquired Waterstone LSP, a U.S. Small Business Administration loan management firm headquartered in Katy, Texas.
Terms of the deal, which was announced Thursday, were not disclosed.
Waterstone will operate as a subsidiary, and its management will report to b1Bank Chief Administrative Officer Jerry Vascocu. All Waterstone employees will remain in their current roles, b1Bank officials said.
Waterstone was founded in 2012 by CEO Mark Danford and Chief Financial Officer Anthony Parrino. b1Bank is one of 16 community banks — and the only one in Louisiana — that Waterstone partners with to distribute and manage SBA loans. It also works with banks in Texas, Ohio, New York, Michigan and Georgia.
